Artist's Description
The Coupeville Wharf on scenic Whidbey Island is a center for boating with a coffee shop, gift stores, and restaurant. Built in 1905, it once was the area's grain wharf for exporting crops.This beautiful red building, with its long dock, is now part of the Central Whidbey Island Historic District, and it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Coupeville is an interesting drive from Seattle, and while you're exploring you can try out Penn Cove mussels and oysters.
This image is based on a photograph with digital effects applied to bring out the texture and detail. The image itself has no texture, however. Copyright July 2020.
