Description
Gas Works Park in Seattle is a public park on the site of an old gasification plant for the former Seattle Gas Light Company. The city left some of the corroded structures in place, some of which have vivid graffiti and some which are overtaken by flowers in the summer. Other parts of the park have been refurbished.
The juxtaposition of the rusty structures against the bright children's play structures and Lake Union make this a unique park. Gas Works was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
