Artist's Description
The dress code is red if you're watching or taking photographs of birds during hunting season. Actually, I'm not sure if people chose red because they were in a wilderness preserve, which isn't far from hunting areas, or if it was an interesting synchronicity. I like how the bird watchers and photographers who were waiting for harrier hawks, snow geese, tundra swans, and other birds, are nicely spaced apart along the curve of this slough for the pandemic. A tree where eagles like to nest is on the right side of the photo.
I applied a selective color filter to this photograph to emphasize the red, and desaturate the rest, although I also plan to post a full-color version as well. This is a beautiful natural area, and the birds are amazing to watch, but people watching is fun as well.
