Description
Slopes and ridgelines of various distances - some with grass, some with trees, and some with snow - provide contrasting angles in this photo taken at Mount Rainier National Park. While the icy white Emmons Glacier is the view most people associate with Mount Rainier, there are many peaks and ridges accessible within the park for hiking. The view from the Sunrise Visitor's Center is amazing, with many trailheads leading from the parking. You can see beautiful grasses and trees in the meadows, pierced by alpine trees, with treed ridges beyond, and rocky, snowy peaks in the distance.
