Description
This coneflower is missing a petal, but it's nevertheless beautiful in its incompleteness. Many of us feel incomplete, but that doesn't mean we aren't beautiful in our humanity. This bee-friendly, fragrant flower is one of my favorties. I almost decided not to publish this photo, because of the missing petal. I don't know if a four-legged critter chewed it, or a child plucked it, or if it's just an anomale in the way the lower grew. Nevertheless, I determined that the flower is still a beauty, and perhaps more interesting.
