Description
The dress code was red in this scene, perhaps because people were watching or taking photographs of birds during hunting season. I'm not sure if people chose red because they were in a wilderness preserve, but it's not far from hunting areas. Or. the red clothing might have just been interesting synchronicity.
I like how the bird watchers and photographers who were waiting for harrier hawks, snow geese, tundra swans, and other birds, are nicely spaced apart along the curve of this slough for the pandemic. A tree where eagles like to nest is on the right side of the photo.
I applied a selective color filter to this photograph to emphasize the red, and desaturate the rest, although I also plan to post a full-color version as well. Another photo of this scene - a bit closer up - is available now in the desurated, selective color. This version shows a bit more of the lovely driftwood, deposted along this waterway to the Skagit Bay in Mount Vernon, Washington.
This is a beautiful natural area, and the birds are amazing to watch, but people watching is fun as well.
