Protection Island is a fascinating destination in Washington State. It's not open for visitors but is an enjoyable site from afar by kayak. Only one non-government resident still lives on the island. This image is based on an original photograph with painterly effects applied.
You can spot amazing birds, even rhinoceros auklets (nicknamed unicorn puffins) and tufted puffins, as well as lots of sea lions and seals in the waters. . Before you pack up your kayak to go, make sure you bring your maps, compass, and lifesaving skills to stay safe along the rugged coastlines.
